I have a crazy life. So how do I keep trading successfully? December 2019 is the perfect example of a hectic trading month for me. I traveled to a bunch of different places — Hawaii, Japan, Miami, Mexico, Nigeria, and Kenya. I’ve been working on editing projects, developing merch for Karmagawa, building libraries, starting new projects … OK, and maybe some partying and an art show in there too. In the midst of all this craziness AND the holiday season, I had 28 total trades — 23 wins and 5 losses. I maintained discipline throughout, and on average, I made $511.* Not impressed? Think about it — small wins add up. And December’s a busy month. Day after day, those small wins add up to a respectable amount. It’s also OK to be conservative in December. There’s a lot more market volatility due to holiday trading … you don’t want to risk blowing up. Why would you bet more just for the heck of it when you know you could lose big? I’m taking small positions, which means my wins are relatively small. But my losses are small, too. My biggest loss was about $360 — but my biggest win was about $1,300!* In this video, I’ll explain why you shouldn’t try to make $30K a day right away. Sure, maybe you could do that at some point… But first, you need to learn to win small and cut losses. Then you can think about scaling up and trading bigger. Starting small isn’t a bad thing. If you can learn to trade successfully with a small account, you also learn the rules when the stakes are lower. That helps you create a strong foundation for trading … how to control losses and focus on the right patterns. These are the things that will help you become a self-sufficient trader!
