The Government is to publish a new scheme for sick pay designed to “set a minimum floor” for the benefit, with initial plans that could see employers asked to cover pay for two weeks. Details of the …
The Hubble Telescope orbits our planet, looking out at the big unknown universe. Since it’s out of our atmosphere, the Hubble can see way further than telescopes on land. No clouds up there. This guy helped us confirm the theory about supermassive black holes in the centers of galaxies. It also discovered a whole bunch of new galaxies, including the world's oldest one, which is about 8 billion years older than our Milky Way! But let’s travel 25 light-years away to another special star. Fomalhaut. It's almost twice as big and heavy as the Sun. If you look at it from far away, you can see a bright yellow disk around it. It’s a debris disk, full of bits of space rock, and it’s huge. Scientists were curious about it, was all this space dust gonna get smooshed together and become a planet one day? But then they saw something else! Right there, through all that debris, was a massive mysterious object… #brightside

When we take the time to enrich the quality of our relationship with ourselves we are directly influencing the quality of all other relationships. This session highlights how yoga practice can be a practice of devotion, a dedication to one’s self, and the way in which that is connected to everything. We continue to dedicate time, attention, and energy to finding conscious breath. Today’s contemplation is split into two parts with the invitation to really devote this time and exploration to what feels authentic and good for you. And, to understand or stay open to the fact that this is not just for you, it is for everyone who may cross your path too. 1. What does it mean to dedicate yourself and really give yourself over to a practice, a project? 2. This is an opportunity to cultivate generosity and to be of service. Each time we come to practice, join our hands in prayer, come to our appropriate edge. May we also use the energy we cultivate in our practice to send some energy to someone else? Can we build love and awareness within, dedicate to that, so that we can share it freely with others? We don’t stay in our bubble of awareness – we cultivate it to expand it and share our gifts. If it is difficult, remember this is a practice, it is a training, but we can choose to dedicate ourselves to showing up. Dedicate to the process. Dedicate your attention to your breathing.. and the rest will unfold. Our teeth can be kind of a pain, but luckily, it’s 2020, we can fix them, keep them clean, and get rid of a toothache with one visit to the dentist. But imagine life thousands of years ago, no toothpaste, no floss, toothbrushes, mouthwash, no braces… Their teeth must’ve been terrible! Or not? Those dentist words: cavities, plaque…they didn’t exist back then. Let’s get in our BrightSide time-machine and go back a bit. Ancient people ate tough meat, cracking open nuts, chewing some tasty tree bark… Their teeth helped them survive in wild and harsh conditions. They were not indestructible, but their unique structure was hard to beat. What do we eat in 2020? Soft patties, pasta, pizza, you get the picture. That stuff’s worse for your teeth than anything your ancestors were eating! Even more surprising: our squishy modern diet has made our mouths shrink! #brightside CC BY-SA 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0:
