Getting Electricity from Space Is No Longer Sci-Fi

What if I told you we could collect energy from space and just bring it down to our planet? That means we wouldn’t need to get electricity from wind, water, or other resources available on Earth. Millions of people would charge their phones, store food in the fridge, watch TV, and do so much more thanks to electricity we'd wirelessly get from space. Well, not only is it possible, but we might see it work sooner than we think, maybe even by 2040. And space keeps surprising us even more every year. #brightside Credit: Suntower: By NASA, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=1099844 abascus: By NASA, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=16117438 Solardisk: By NASA, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=1099870 Construction: By NASA, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=122782357 robotic arm: By NASA – https://flic.kr/p/2esYiAj, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=78298231 satellite concept: By NASA, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=1893821 MAVEN: By NASA/Jim Grossmann, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=29702716 experiment: By NASA/Johns Hopkins APL, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=108474210 illumination test: By Photo credit: NASA/Jack Pfaller, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=15417712 Super-Earth: By NASA/JPL-Caltech, https://exoplanets.nasa.gov/resources/2341/super-earth-lp-890-9-c-illustration/ IMBH: By ESA/Hubble, M.
