You know that little groove between your nose and upper lip? It's called a "philtrum." And those little plastic things at the end of shoelaces? Those are "aglets." Ever noticed the indentation above your upper lip when you smile? That's the "philtrum dimple." You know when you suddenly forget what you were about to say? That's a "l'esprit de l'escalier," or "staircase wit." Lastly, have you ever seen those little dots on the surface of a basketball? Those are called "pebbling."
