"The lyrics crashed through me as I pumped my arms and legs," Shelby Forsythia remembers. "I saw myself as an innocent, unsuspecting being in a violent, screeching construction site. My demolition was inevitable, and all I could do was run. Not to escape the certainty of my mother's death, but to feel like I was doing something — anything — with the pain of it." After a short period in hospice care, Shelby's mom died in December of 2013 — and the combination of movement and melody helped her process the loss.
