There’s a common misconception among many new traders — they think they only can trade low-priced stocks. Bohen thinks there's plenty of opportunity in higher-priced stocks. We’ll have to chalk this one up to a difference of opinion. I think you should stay away from stocks over $10 a share, especially if you have a small account. Remember that you're competing against some of the most well-connected, knowledgeable, and experienced (not to mention richest) traders in the world. You don't wanna battle against hedge funds and institutions. Let me elaborate … The higher-priced stocks that Bohen likes are momentum stocks that just reached double digits. Once these momentum stocks reach that double-digit level, they're less likely to make those crazy moves to the downside. So if you're swing trading or holding positions for days or weeks, it’s not as scary. And there can be less risk … the $10 to $12 stocks don't usually drop 50% overnight like a lot of the lower-priced stocks. I love low-priced stocks — that’s mostly what I focus on. But too many people think they can't trade higher-priced stocks if they have a small account. Remember the rule of ten: Let’s say you have a thousand shares of a $1 stock and it goes to $1.50. It's the same as having a hundred shares of a $10 stock that goes to $15. High-priced stocks aren’t for everyone — just like low-priced stocks aren’t for everyone. Test the waters to find what works for you! Have you tried trading both high- and low-priced stocks? Which do you prefer? Leave a comment below and let me know! —————————————————————————————————————-
